One of Aurum Home Care's founders, Lynda Febers is teaming up with Mia Richardson to trek across volcanoes in Ecuador to raise money for Dementia Jersey.

Mia is a family friend and together they will spend nine days in the South American country hiking the Avenue of Volcanoes. Many of these towering snow-capped cones are still active!!!

Between the volcanoes lies the dramatic Toachi canyon, flanked by lush green valleys of tropical forest and farmland dotted with Indigenous villages; this trek explores this diverse landscape, criss-crossing the steep-sided canyon on ancient trading paths rising over 3000m. Reach the stunning Quilotoa (3870m), a vast volcanic crater known for its vivid turquoise lagoon.

Lynda and Mia are hard at work training for the trek with regular early morning north coast walks and weekend rambles around Jersey.

The trek is organised by and designed to raise money for Dementia Jersey a charity close to the hearts of Mia and Lynda.

Lynda has worked in health care from the age of 16 and has supported many clients and their families through Dementia.

Mia at a very young age helped to support her grandmother who’s wishes were to remain at home with support and care from family members.

If you can support the cause please donate to Team Aurum's Sports Giving page here.
