Outstanding Results in the Latest Jersey Care Commission Report
Jersey’s trusted home-care provider, Aurum Home Care Ltd, has received an exceptional report from the Jersey Care Commission following inspections held on 5 August and 5 September 2025.
The Commission’s summary report, published 7 October 2025, confirms that Aurum Home Care continues to deliver safe, responsive, and person-centred care — with no areas for improvement identified.
This rare outcome places Aurum among the island’s top-performing home-care services and highlights its commitment to maintaining the very highest standards of care and governance.
Safe Recruitment, Skilled Staff, and Excellent Supervision
Inspectors praised Aurum’s robust recruitment practices and clear, well-structured onboarding processes. The company’s policy ensures that every staff member undergoes a thorough background check, safeguarding training, and a competency-based induction before working independently.
The report notes that most care staff now hold RQF Level 2 or 3 qualifications, and that ongoing supervision and professional development are “consistent and supportive.”Staffing levels were described as appropriate, with rotas confirming regular rest periods — another sign of strong workforce management.
Caring, Person-Centred, and Culturally Aware Care
Inspectors found that care plans are developed with each care receiver and their families, ensuring the service reflects personal preferences, cultural needs, and individual goals.Examples of good practice included supporting clients with holidays, social activities, and specialist communication needs — clear evidence of Aurum’s commitment to enabling independence and wellbeing.
Feedback from clients and relatives was universally positive, describing staff as “caring, approachable, and responsive.”
The Commission concluded that care receivers’ rights, privacy, and dignity are always respected.
Strong Safeguarding and Governance Framework
The inspection also commended Aurum’s safeguarding procedures, which “provide clear guidance and emphasise multi-agency working.”Inspectors highlighted a comprehensive internal reporting system that ensures incidents are reviewed and learning is shared — reinforcing a culture of safety and accountability.
Policies and procedures were found to be up-to-date, Jersey-specific, and aligned with regulatory standards. Staff morale and retention remain high, contributing to excellent continuity of care.
“No Areas for Improvement” — A Remarkable Achievement
The Commission’s conclusion was unequivocal:
“Aurum Home Care Service delivers care in line with its Statement of Purpose and regulatory conditions, with systems in place to maintain safe, person-centred, and responsive care. There were no areas for improvement identified during this inspection and an improvement plan is not required.”
Gold-Standard Care for Jersey’s Community
Named after the Latin word for gold, Aurum Home Care continues to live up to its name. The company’s professionalism, compassion, and dedication to continuous improvement have made it a beacon in Jersey’s care community.
As demand for high-quality home care grows, Aurum’s approach — combining expert clinical standards with genuine empathy — sets a benchmark for excellence in Jersey’s home-care sector.
